New Learnings

One of the things I love about my job is that there is always something new to learn.  There is constant research going on for exercise and good nutrition.

And therefore, some of things that I learned at the beginning of my career have now been revised or even just proven wrong!

All Change!

For instance, I was initially trained that to increase metabolism, you had to eat (protein based) 3 small meals and 2 or 3 snacks during the day to keep your metabolism high.  This was based on managing sugar levels and burning extra calories from digestion.  Well now we also know that there are benefits to fasting, i.e eating less meals in a smaller window of time.

So which is right?  Neither and both!  We are all different and therefore have to take in the science, apply it then see what works for us.

At bootcamp we tackle a different topic of exercise or nutrition each month.  This month is focussing on metabolism and because of new research and information, I have amended my guidance from what I had previously advised.

This goes for anything.  If it’s not working for you, change it.  If it IS working, fab, keep going! 😀

So here are some things that you can do which will benefit everybody and will help you to identify what works for you:

Get Good Quality Protein (at every meal)

Feed Your Gut Microbes

Swap Ultra-Processed Food for Whole Foods

Get a Caffeine Fix

Go to Bed Earlier

Don’t Diet

Get to Bootcamp!!

No one thing will work for you and none of these on their own will make a massive difference but use them all as a basis for a long term healthy lifestyle.
