WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF ONLINE BOOTCAMP CLASSES?

Let’s face it ladies, squeezing in exercise can sometimes feel like juggling flaming torches in a firework factory. Work, family and the ever present pile of laundry can make getting to a class or the gym like mission impossible. But what’s this? You can join an online fitness class? Hurrah for technology!

Every day, fitness is becoming more high tech. Here are some of the advantages of online or virtual exercise classes:

  • Time saving

No travel time to the class (and back) and you can jump straight in the shower and be out of the door in double quick time.

  • You can’t forget anything

Have you ever got to the gym, had a great workout and then realised you have forgotten clean underwear and had to spend the day at work ‘commando’?! 😱 Well, if you are at home, you have everything already there. No bag packing the night before required.

  • Value for money, no gym fees

Most Online Bootcamp Workouts are generally a little cheaper than in person fitness classes. So in these times of price rises, a virtual bootcamp will have smaller overheads and that will be reflected in the membership fees.

  • Easy Access

No need to book in advance and there is always space available in your front room/office/garden! You can use a phone, tablet or laptop, whatever you prefer.

  • No geographical restrictions

You can join an online fitness class from wherever you are in the country, or even world!

  • No one to judge you

If you feel a little self conscious in a group class then virtual bootcamp classes can feel much more comfortable. In general, the only person who will see you is the instructor. And your family obviously. You could get your kids to cheer you on while they are eating breakfast! 😂 What a great role model you will be for them too. 💪

  • Gain confidence as well as fitness

If you do feel self conscious, starting out with an online fitness bootcamp can get you started on your fitness journey. As you get fitter and used to the exercises you will probably think “Damn, I’m actually ok at this! I wanna do this with other people!”

  • All equipment is to hand

No hunting round for the right weight dumbells. All your equipment is already to hand and no one else is going to be using it. You can probably even get them in your favourite colour!

  • Flexible - On demand as well

Like a lot of other online exercise classes, we have On Demand bootcamp classes. These are very handy, if you need to be in the office a bit earlier than normal or are travelling in a different time zone. Just log in, choose your workout and off you go.

  • Real time feedback

In the live online exercise classes, the trainer will be checking your form and giving tailored advice to you. Sometimes this will be giving extra reps or a more challenging variation of the exercise. Sometimes, it’s an alternative exercise if you have an injury. Sometimes it will be correcting your positioning to get the most out of the exercise and avoid injury.

  • Still in a group or community

Even though you are on your own in your living room, you can still be part of a supportive group. We have a WhatsApp group for all bootcampers, where everything from advice on dog sitters to recommendations of fitness podcasts are discussed. Book recommendations figure regularly, as does ‘complaining’ of how many burpees were in today’s workout. 😜 And even recently, as a group, we managed to get a locksmith quickly for a bootcamper’s elderly neighbour who had locked themselves out!

  • You are in control of your environment

So you will always feel ‘comfortable’. Open a window, get a fan on in summer. When it’s cold, dark and raining, you will be warm and dry.

  • You have a ‘Trainer in your pocket’

Or a class in your pocket. Wherever and whenever you are, you will always have access to a workout. Working away from home? On holiday? Just log in and join in.

  • Great if you travel regularly for work

Hotel gyms are variable and a lot don’t have one at all. An online exercise class will be naturally geared to smaller spaces so can be done in a hotel room if need be. And if the hotel does have a gym, take your phone or laptop in there too.

  • Can still be outside

If, like a lot of people, you just prefer training outside then you can still take your phone/tablet etc out to the garden or nearby park. Log in as normal and away you go.

  • Working from home?

If you don’t have to travel to work, it’s super easy to do a home workout, have breakfast and a shower and ‘be at your desk’ ready and raring to go first thing in the morning. And if you need a quick pick me up at lunchtime, that’s also easy to squeeze in in an hour. You will probably be more productive in the afternoon too.

  • Hybrid working and hybrid workout!

We also have an option to do a bit of both. Bootcamp On The Green in Twickenham is face to face. Virtual Bootcamp On The Screen is online. You choose which you attend on any given day. Need an extra hour in bed? Log in to the online class. Want to feel fresh air to get you going? Join us on the green. Your choice.
